During History Week 2011, Kogarah Library will celebrate the history of a suburban eating institution: the corner shop. Historian Ella Barnett will recount stories and personalities from local corner shops that give colour to the history of the Kogarah area. Take a sentimental journey back to a time when the locals depended on family businesses for their basic needs and there truly was a sense of 'community' in the local community.
