Applications open for the Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) scholarship

The Australian Centre for Indigenous History located in the School of History at the Australian National University, invites applications for an Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) scholarship leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The scholarship is funded via the Australian Research Council. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the PhD candidate will participate in research into the Indigenous histories of sites in the Top End of the Northern Territory. The project will investigate the social and environmental links creating historical 'highways' of understanding in specific landscapes, and will create innovative models for Indigenous and landscape-focused historical interpretation. The student will work directly with Chief Investigators, including Professor Ann McGrath, Shino Konishi, Peter Read and Luke Taylor In addition, the student will receive support from staff of the project Partner Organisations. These comprise NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change, Director of National Parks (Australia), National Film and Sound Archives and Ronin Films.
