> Elections
The election of the members to the General Council of the History Council of New South Wales is set out in the Objects
and Rules of the Council. The General Council is elected biennially by the Council's
membership. Nominations for Councillors to the General Council can be made by
both individual and corporate members. The General Council is
comprised of twenty members, fifteen are elected by the
corporate membership, three by the individual membership
and two by the Aboriginal membership of the Council.
The election for the General Council of the
Council is by a two stage postal ballot.
- The call for nominations takes place in November
biennially.
- Voting takes place in January the following
year, when ballot papers are posted to all financial
members.
The election results are announced at the History
Council of New South Wales' Annual General Meeting in
February.
